The Case for Cufflinks

Simple Accessory, Big Impact: How Cufflinks Can Transform Your Outfit

When searching through most menswear stores you'll notice that virtually all shirts are sold with barrel cuffs, or cuffs that are fastened by 1 to 3 buttons. We understand their place as a practical option, but we want to make the case for the link cuffed shirt, or one that requires the use of a link to fasten the cuff together. We believe that the latter option provides not only superior styling options, but also a very welcomed level of comfort.

On the subject of Style:

Variety: Cufflinks come in a wide variety of styles, colors, and materials, so it's easy to find a pair that complements your individual taste. Whether you prefer classic gold or silver designs, or more modern options featuring gemstones or enamel, there's a pair of cufflinks out there that will suit your style. Sophistication: Another benefit of wearing cufflinks is that they can help you achieve a more tailored and polished look. When you wear a dress shirt with cufflinks, you have the option to adjust the fit of the sleeve to your liking, which can help create a more streamlined and elegant appearance.

Versatility: Don't think this is something only reserved for the boardroom or formal events! Cufflinks are surprisingly versatile accessories that can be worn with a range of different outfits. They can be paired with everything from a formal suit to a more casual shirt and blazer combination. This usability makes them a valuable addition to any man's wardrobe.

On the subject of comfort:

While comfort is more of a subjective matter, we feel there are some observed "truths" when wearing a link cuffed shirt. While you can do some adjusting to ensure a proper fit on the wrist, the linked style will offer more breathing room than its barrel counterpart. This ensures two things: The first, your arm can move more freely within the sleeve itself, meaning there is less pull on the fabric. And two, due to this increased freedom, helps prevent untucking when wearing a suit jacking, blazer, and even a sweater. Not to mention your wristwatch will have a much easier time moving under a link cuffed sleeve!
